4 stars (Must-have fun for the PSP) - Finally, GTA is here for the PSP. If you are still deciding whether to get this or not, I say go for it. While GTA: LCS is not the "killer app" that GTA 3 was for the PS2, it's nonetheless tons of fun and endless excitment, coupled with lots of handheld violence and one-person mayhem. There's no doubt that this is simply the best PSP game so far, and it takes full advantage of the PSP's processing and graphic powers. The graphics is fantastic on the PSP, and the framerate for the most part excellent. A couple times you'll notice some choppiness, but otherwise it's just like on the good ol' PS2. The controls are mostly good, except this game inherits the maddening aiming scheme from GTA 3, so when you are in the middle of a Godfather-like shootout, you'll wish for better aiming controls. But that's just a minor complaint. What stopped me from rating this 5 stars -- my inclination is to give it an overall rating of 4.5 stars (90%) -- is the level design is just too similar to GTA 3. You are back in Liberty City, with pretty much the same layouts. Neighborhood names have changed, but otherwise the environment and the characters look (and sound) exactly the same. The gameplay is also pretty much the same, which is great but at the same time a little, shall we say, hackneyed. Still, this is a must-have title for any PSP gamers. 5 stars (Can someone please answer my question?) - I have a PSP and I want to get this game really badly. But I read in previous reviews for this game that the system software has to be at least 2.0 or higher to play this game. The system software on my PSP is 1.50! So my question is, can I upgrade my PSP by using the GTA umd? 5 stars (Liberty City Stories) - A mini crime opera, complete with pint-size bottles of blood, micro-chipped caches of street-smart lingo, fun-size dollops of violence and doggie-bag portability. A veritable miracle of compression, perhaps the best complement to LCS is that ... 5 stars (Finally, my daughter can read!) - Finally, a program that caters to girls instead of just boys. Well, boys can play this too, but i find it very female friendly. My daugthers love it and fight over who gets to use it. My littlest is really shy and was having problems in kindergarten and afraid to ask for help. Now, she is starting to get the hang of spelling and feels so confident about it and always wants to play with Mia. We tried reader rabbit kindergarten as well but I found it wasn't effective as it didn't keep her attention long enough to start understanding the educational concepts. I will definitely recommend this for all parents who want to reinforce the basics of reading and writing. 5 stars (Great Fun and Learning!) - I bought this for my daughter when she turned 4 as she was already starting to learn to read. It took her a little while to follow the story and find the clues (I helped her with that). Once she had that figured out, it became her favorite computer game. She loves all the games, they were challenging but not too difficult for her on level 1 (there are 5 or 6 levels as I recall). She has since moved on to more difficult levels and still really enjoys it 1.5 years later. If your child is great at exploring computer programs and seeking for objects and clues this is an excellent reading program that won't bore them. If your child doesn't enjoy the "search," the games are still very much worth the money. I should also mention that the little cd-rom book that comes with it tells you exactly where to find everything for those who get frustrated with the search. ... 5 stars (The Sun Is Shinning Bright For Vice City) - Vice City was my first game in the GTA series. I started playing it and just by reading the manual I was already blown away by it. This game is so realistic, and not just becuase of it's awsome graphics. The story is very engaging to the player, and the town is just like walking down Malibu Beach. The characters are real, and the dialoge with the movies get you really involved with the game. It's a game that you think about all day in school then rush home so you can play it. Besides the story and the actual game, there is a lot more to the game. You can go on Rampage Missions where you have to kill gang members in a certain amount of time, street racing, watching strippers, stunt bonus's to get more money, or stealing cop cars, taxies, tanks, fire trucks, or ambulances and doing missions for them. So once you finish the game, there still is a lot more to play. This probaly is one of the best PC games I have ever played, it is both a visual and emotional gaming experiance that should bring a smile to your face everytime you play it. It's a lot better than most cop/ mafia/ shooter games becuase unlike most GTA actually has a story that is unique and makes sense, and is easy to follow. It's kind of like starring in a Mob film..but you just don't get paid for it. Yeah, but anyways, the game is a lot of fun and for anyone that's a fan of shooter/ action games this is a great game for you. Graphics- 8.5/10, for it's time they're good, but for now idk. Story- 9/10, it keeps you going and never gets dull or too out of hand. Weapons- 9.5/10, you can use anything from Brass Kunckles to Rocket Launchers. Vehicles- 9/10, There's a pretty good range of cars from cheap cars to fancy sports cars. You also can drive mopeds, choppers, dirt bikes, and motorcycles. As well as Taxis, ambulances, cop cars, fire trucks, bus's, helicopters, boats, and yaucts. So yeah the game pretty much is awsome. BUY IT....NOW! 5 stars (A posi... 5 stars (Fate, Persistance & A Slam) - Frost has done it again, a marvelous read of golf's rich history and lore. This follows his excellent work on Ouimet and the start of America's love with this game and its champions. Frost is good at weaving the story here of Jones and the only Grand Slam to date with the surrounding cultural news. This provides necessary backdrop to the golf. The persistance of this individual who many a time could have and felt like chucking it in, but kept on, learning and growing not by wins so much, but by the losses. Fate had its share in all this as well, as Jones and associates knew. The incidents on and off the links where it almost seemed as the script had already been written, as Pop Keeler sensed from the outset. There are many good stories here, written with gusto and passion and solid wordscultping. Wonderful photos grace each new chapter. Many developments leading up to the Slam never realized were revealed here: Mail Freeburg saving them from burning train bridge; skip shot across the lake; etc. This is must reading for avid golfer, for the paths cross likes of Nicklaus, Palmer, Eisenhower, Hagan, Sarazen, etc. His legendary amateur status, then retirement, accomplishments in studies and law, and friendships abound. Long but will hold one's attention and get one through, so that re-reads can and do happen. 4 stars (Excellent and Entertaining) - Mark Frost again shows he has his finger on the pulse of American sports history with his marvelous biography of Bobby Jones. This is the first Jones bio I have encountered that looks beyond the championships and The Slam to look at what Bobby went through to acheive such feats. It was especially interesting to see that the Grand Slam was not a series of dominating peformances, and that on at least one occasion (to paraphrase the Duke of Wellington) it was a damn close run thing. While it is roundly recognized that Jones heyday was occured in the Golden Age of American s...
